I was attracted to the prospect of staying in a convenient and popular location (Akihabara) and as soon as I came across this unique property (Art hotel), I knew I had found our Tokyo "home away from home". The room was spacious, with unique artistic features (as a small zen garden on the balcony, tatami floor seating for the dining table) and had a spacious bathroom, laundry facility and kitchen for home cooking. There were only about 5 rooms in the entire property which was between 7-10 minute walk from the main stretch of Akihabara. Transport options to other sights in Tokyo were easy to access. Staff were on hand for support as required, but otherwise it was a very casual facility. The back streets were quaint and charming with unique Japanese homes, shops, temples and shrines that transported you away very quickly from the busy and wide main roads that were a mere stone's throw away. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk south of Ueno Park's Shinobazu pond and 10 minutes southwest from the charming Ueno Ameyoko Shopping Street. I would go back in a heartbeat and see if I could stay in one of the other rooms for an equally interesting artistic experience.

Loved the design of the space - wish I could have seen some other rooms as well. The size of the unit was huge for Tokyo. Bathroom was large and very nice. The washer / dryer in the unit was also a big plus. The kitchen with fridge is small but totally adequate for some light duty cooking. Akihabara isn't my favorite neighborhood in Tokyo, but the location is close to major subways and train lines. Plus neighboring Ueno, Yanaka, and Asakusa are nice to visit. The staff was young and friendly, and the bar / restaurant downstairs seemed cute.

We had the coolest room! Be far the nicest bed we slept on over our whole trip. It's a self contained studio with a kitchen and washer/dryer. When we went the downstairs area wasn't being used for anything, so nobody congregated in the common area which gave more of an AirBnb vibe. Super close to Akihabara and the BEST taiyaki around the corner.

Emma

The design of the hotel is great. Our room was massive and the design was so cool. It's a very small hotel which we didn't realise at the time of booking but we didn't have any issues. The location is an easy walk into the heart of Akihabara with a great taiyaki place at the corner too.

Bonnie

I was in the black Japanese themed room and it was a pretty cool style, also big for a room in Tokyo! With some info about the artists in the booklet. Clean, comfy, quiet, the kitchen and washing machine were useful. Would stay again =)
